About A Place to Study

A Place to Study is a multilingual, web-based, fee-content work environment to support liberal learning, personal efforts at self-formation, and the clarification of the fundamental concerns of humane conduct. Currently a small group of volunteers are developing the structure of the site and its initial kernel of content. We expect to open the site for public participation in the fall of 2020. The site runs on Mediawiki, the software created for Wikipedia and related projects, and relies on adaptations of Wikipedia's principles by which unpaid volunteers generate and maintain its content. All persons will be able to use A Place to Study free of charge and free of advertising as part of the digital commons, and its long-term operating costs will be supported by a foundation created for that purpose.
